A documentary on family sour rye soup factory seen by the youngest family member, 4 year old Franciszek who is also the narrator of the film. The boy shows us around a factory hall full of big machines, demonstrates where the soup is being fermented. We watch him patiently placing bottles in the boxes. The journey with Franciszek through the whole production process of the sour rye soup is a journey into the enchanted world of a child.

Marta Kalfas
Born in Cracow, Poland. Graduated in Culture Studies at the Jagiellonian University. A student in Philosophy, preparing for the entry examination to The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz. Her debut as a director “Sour Rye Soup From Loverville” features her closest family.
