The storyline focuses on friendship between two young women who grew up in the same orphanage where they entered into an erotic relationship. Alina (Cristina Flutur) leaves for Germany in search for work and Voichita (Cosmina Stratan) joins a monastery where she finds solace and peace of heart. One day Alina comes back and tries to talk her friend into leaving with her. Her persuasion becomes more and more persistent and although it is tempting enough, the nun refuses hearing it. Their mutual desire disturbs the stability of the religious community and Alina’s epileptic attacks are seen as demonic possession. Mounting suspense is building slowly throughout only to explode towards the tragic finale. Real-time action, although typical of new Romanian wave, is forsaken in the film.
