A performance by the Television Theatre, based on Juliusz Słowacki’s Romantic drama written in 1833 in Geneva. It refers to the November Uprising and explains the reasons behind its failure. The protagonist, Kordian (Marek Kondrat), is disappointed with romantic love. Aftar a failed suicidal attempt he goes to England and Italy. During this trip he comes to realise that money makes the world go round. On the top of Mont Blanc Kordian changes from an unhappy lover into a patriot and finds the meaning of life. After a meeting with conspirators, he decides to kill the tsar on his own. The assassination attempt fails; Kordian is captured and put in a madhouse. The tsar sentences Kordian to death but the Grand Duke demands that his brother pardon Kordian. Will the execution be stopped?
