The final days of the second world war. The shepherd Jakub (Janusz Michałowski) enters a court, abandoned by the landlords who are escaping from the battlefront. Entering this forbidden area entices him to fantasise and see himself in the role of a lord. Step by step, the differences between reality and imagination fade, while the frontline approaches unrelentingly.
