Based on “Jimmy, créature de rêve” by Canadian author Marie Brassard. Kept in a surreal and dreamlike convention, the film depicts the cruelty of war as seen through the eyes of a dying General. The stream of consciousness flowing through a mind accustomed to seeing life as a battlefield mixes disturbing images of violence, brutality, death, and surprising hope. Pires’ film astounds with its visual fulness and a perfect construction of dramatic suspense using pictures alone.
