Free Poland three years after the fall of communism. Zyga (Geierszał) is twenty-something and determined to take life into his own hands in the new reality. Recklessly, in the times of chaos and moral anarchy, he becomes a gangster instead. He longs for the West and refuses to watch colourful world only in youth magazines. When on his side of the border poverty and humiliation are omnipresent, he crosses the Odra river and lands in a place where the Germans appear to have it all. Then he simply reaches out and takes the tokens of a better life. He becomes the king of “yuma”, i.e. petty thefts. He comes back to his community with Adidas shoes and Ray Bans which makes him a local Robin Hood. Before he manages to grasp what is happening, money and power take over his naive dreams. The Germans will tighten anti robbery prevention and Russian mobsters, led by the demonic Opat (Tomasz Kot), will enter the game.
