Their aim is to familiarise the viewers with prominent directors whose output had or is having a key influence on the directions of world cinematography. The protagonists of this year will be Fridrik Thor Fridriksson and Marek Koterski.

Fridrik Thor Fridriksson is one of the fathers of the Icelandic film industry. His 1991 film “Children of nature” put Iceland on the film map of the world and was awarded with an Oscar nomination for the best Foreign Language Film. Marek Koterski – modern analyst of the Polish soul – created Adaś Miauczyński. This typical Polish intellectual, consumed by frustration and seeing the world as  a heap of absurd and hopelessness, became a true hero of the generation.
